Project Highlights
2024 saw us involved in a diverse range of projects, spanning Bristol, Devon, Cornwall, Hampshire, and South Wales. These projects not only showcased our versatility but also reinforced our commitment to safety, sustainability, and community regeneration. Some of our standout projects from this year include:
Appledore Middledock, Devon
We kicked off the year at the former boatyard on the River Torridge in Devon. The project involved the removal of asbestos and the demolition of a former boat-building yard, ultimately delivering a fully remediated site. Working directly with Torridge District Council, this project marked a strong start to the year and is part of the ongoing regeneration efforts in the area.
Ringland Social Housing Project, Newport
One of the most significant projects this year was our work at the Ringland Social Housing site in Newport. Situated in a deprived area in vital need of regeneration, we carried out large-scale demolition and asbestos removal to make way for new social housing and retail spaces. This project is set to breathe new life into the community, offering much-needed infrastructure and housing.
Bath Road, Bridlington, Bristol
Another standout project was the regeneration of Bath Road in Bristol. Here, we carried out the demolition of an old factory, including sensitive asbestos removal and hand dismantling due to ecological concerns. This project required us to make the site safe while awaiting full planning approval for future social housing development, further contributing to local regeneration efforts.
These projects, alongside others such as Porsche Garage in Bristol, Bonnington Walk in Lockleaze, and the Bridgewater Tidal Barrier, reflect the wide-ranging scope of our work. Whether it’s large-scale demolition, internal strip-outs, land remediation, or crushing and screening of aggregates, Weaver Demolition provides a full suite of services, catering to both old and new clients.
Continuing to Support the Local Community
Community involvement has always been at the heart of Weaver Demolition. This year, we continued our long-standing tradition of supporting the local community through a variety of initiatives including supporting our local food bank. We are also once again proud to sponsor Southmead Football Club and the Chew Valley Beer Festival.
Additions to Our Fleet
2024 also saw the expansion of our fleet with the addition of a new CAT 340 machine, a specialist piece of equipment that enables us to deliver even more efficient and sustainable demolition services. As part of our ongoing investment in the latest technology and machinery, this addition strengthens our ability to tackle complex projects and ensures we remain at the forefront of the demolition industry.
Growing the Team
Weaver Demolition is proud to have expanded our team this year. With five new hires, including a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Site Supervisors, and Demolition Operatives, we have strengthened our ability to deliver exceptional service on every project. We also welcomed another apprentice into the business as part of our continued commitment to developing the next generation of demolition professionals. Each year, we actively recruit apprentices and invest in their training, ensuring they grow into valued members of our team.
Additionally, as we celebrate 35 years of membership with the National Federation of Demolition Contractors, we are proud to uphold the highest industry standards. Our ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental), and ISO 45001 (health and safety) and Construction Gold accreditations remain a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we reflect on a year of growth and achievement, we are excited about the future. With 56 years of experience, Weaver Demolition has evolved from a family-run business into a dynamic company providing a wide range of demolition and construction services. As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to providing exceptional service, supporting our community, and continuing to invest in both our team and our fleet.
We’re eager to take on new challenges, expand our portfolio of projects, and further strengthen our position as a trusted partner for both public and private sector clients across the south of England and South Wales.
Thank you to our clients, partners, and team members for making 2024 such a successful year. Here’s to even greater achievements in 2025!
