Weaver Demolition receive NFDC accreditation for 32nd consecutive year

Weaver Demolition were delighted to have received our NFDC (National Federation of Demolition Contractors) accreditation. We were first awarded the accreditation in 1989 and have continued to maintain the required standards for 32 consecutive years. We place a high value on this industry accreditation and see this as an endorsement of our commitment to consistently deliver high standards in the demolition sector.

Whilst we’re proud to hold this accreditation, we thought it would be useful to explain what it means.

What is the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC)?

The National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) is a UK trade association for professional demolition contractors and is the only UK federation in the demolition industry.

The organisation’s origins go back to the Second World War when demolition experts were called upon to safely take down structures that had been compromised through bombing. These collaborative efforts led to the formation of the NFDC in 1941.

Since then, the NFDC has championed the standards and professionalism of its members for 80 years and now counts some of the biggest names in demolition amongst its membership, with more than 140 members across the UK.

Backed up with regular member site audits and appropriate training from the NFDC’s partnered provider, the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG), it ensures that professional standards are maintained and reinforced through compulsory standard and specialised training sessions and also provides educational tools, technical advice, guidance notes and codes of practice on all aspects of demolition and resulting waste management.
