Work began in February, starting with an initial site appraisal. Carrying this out at an early stage helped us to familiarise ourselves with the site and make sure there were no potential limitations that might have affected the project further down the line.

Once this was complete, we tailored and developed our site-specific methodologies and logistics plans. This enabled us to put plans into place to reduce any potential impact on the surrounding road network and ensure minimum disruption to neighbouring residents and businesses.

As well as this, with our use of value engineering, it helped us to reduce programme duration, maximise the asset value on the project and deliver the best service possible to the client.

The identification and removal of any hazardous materials and key risk items were then carried out to allow us to strip the building to its shell ready for demolition. Carrying out a thorough soft-strip helped to maximise recyclable waste streams. Following successful demolition, we removed all slabs, foundations and below ground obstructions. All hardcore material was crushed on-site and then diverted to local infrastructure projects for re-use.

To ensure the job was finished to complete satisfaction, we adhered to the highest standard of health and safety at all times.
